Camp TALON 6/1/14 – Jekyll Island

The past five days, I attended Camp T.A.L.O.N. for teen birders on Georgia’s coast. The camp had 16 kids and two adult chaperones. The first day, we arrived at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simon’s Island where we stayed and then did some afternoon birding at nearby Jekyll Island. We first checked out the amphitheater pond, then visited the feeder station at the campgrounds and finally went to the beach as it was getting dark. I took no photos this day but have a list below of the species we saw at each stop.
